Terms of Service

1. Service Description

QuailBook is a web application designed for tracking the lifecycle of Coturnix quail flocks. It provides tools for managing incubation batches, brooding logs, egg production records, breeding pairs, health events, and culling decisions. The service helps users plan and document quail husbandry by generating automated date projections and alerts based on established quail biology.

2. Open Beta Status

QuailBook is currently offered as a free open-beta service. During this period, the following apply:

• The service is provided "as-is" without warranty or guarantee of availability.
• Features, data structures, and functionality may change or be discontinued without notice.
• We do not guarantee uptime, data backup, or recovery. You are encouraged to export your records regularly.
• Upon request, we will provide a full export of your data in a standard format at no charge. Contact jonathan@joyaprods.com to request your data export.

3. User Accounts and Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current information when creating your account and to keep that information up to date. You agree not to share your account credentials with others or allow others to access your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use QuailBook only for lawful purposes and for the management of your own quail flocks or those for which you have appropriate authority. You agree not to:

• Use the service to harm, harass, or defame others.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' accounts.
• Transmit malware, viruses, or any code of destructive nature.
• Use the service in any manner that violates applicable laws or regulations.
• Reverse-engineer, modify, or create derivative works based on the service.

5. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these terms or other conduct we deem inappropriate. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. You may delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting jonathan@joyaprods.com.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, QuailBook and its creators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use or inability to use the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of business, or harm to your flock. This includes any reliance on projections or alerts generated by the service. You are responsible for verifying all information and making your own decisions regarding your flock management.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal proceedings shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in the United States.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on the service. Your continued use of the service following the posting of revised terms means that you accept and agree to the changes.
